Having
developed a range of world beating technologies for the high performance fire
protection coatings market, known as Passive Fire Protection Coatings (PFPCs).
Frontiers’ pool of expertise has been further recognised in the Fire industry.
These are extraordinary
paints and coatings that are applied to materials such as metals,
plastics/composites, timber, and textiles to give them protection against fire.
During a fire these coatings swell in thickness (‘intumesce’), forming an insulating layer of char. The more they swell the better the insulation and hence the fire protection. Surpassing the latest international standards, Frontier’s technology offers unparalleled protection to lives and assets by containing the spread of fire.
FPW’s technology has been developed over the past 30 years by its founder Dr. M.S.Deogon. We are backed by a PhD in Intumescent Chemistry, and by substantial PFP industry expertise with direct experiences handling major disasters like Piper Alpha Oil Rig Fire, Kuwaiti Oil Well fires, Kings Cross fire, Alexander Palace fire and many more. He is a world-renowned expert in this field with numerous international patents and has served on several international regulatory bodies including HSE, OCB, LSS and as leading Fire Scientist for the UK government.
Current commercially available products are based on a 50-year-old ‘Laurie’ patent and have not advanced technologically over this period.
