The fire research and testing laboratory was opened in 1998, giving the FPW one of the most versatile and comprehensive fire research and testing facilities available in the world.
We offer fully bespoke research and testing programs that suit the needs of our clients, who range from product manufacture’s, construction companies, insurers, military and governmental departments. Examples of the research and testing carried out include real world suitability, post fire investigation, fire reconstruction and fire investigation. Along with this bespoke service, we offer a selection of standards testing.
We also pride ourselves in being independent of all product suppliers, installers and manufacture’s, guaranteeing a confidential and impartial service to clients. This also allows us to facilitate reconstructions and/or simulations for investigation into causes of incidents.
Our services include
Fire testing – such as reaction and resistance to fire testing of materials and structures, and the performance testing of some fire suppression components and systems including smoke and heat ventilation systems.
Regulatory testing – for demonstration of compliance with UK Building Regulations, and for European Classification and CE Marking.
New tests – we are at the forefront of the development of new test standards – we are farmiliar with all of the European test standards – and are able to help and advise on all new fire testing methods.
Third-party approvals – our laborotory team provides a hand holding service while conducting third-party certification of products and material.
Testing advice – with extensive fire testing facilities and a highly qualified team of expert scientists and engineers we can help you with practical solutions, technical advice and bespoke services.
